DESCRIPTION:Help us reach out to voters\, increase awareness of these dangerous bills\, and give voters the information they need to call their elected officials and support the public education system that the vast majority of our students are enrolled in\, not undermine it by diverting funding to private and religious schools. \nLegislation that will divert critical funding from our education system is making its way through the State Legislature. One bill would give private and religious schools as much as $100 million in tax credits\, and another would provide state money to assist students attending private and religious schools with tuition and fees. Both are explicitly prohibited in the state Constitution. But the legislators have a solution to that: Change the Constitution. \nPhone banking will be both in person and virtually. SUMMARY:A Legacy Celebration
DESCRIPTION:We will be having a Legacy Celebration for three of our elected officials who have served the community for many years\, but are now able to take their well-deserved rest. Councilwoman Xanthene Norris\, Representative Leola Robinson-Simpson\, and Probate Judge Debora Faulkner will be honored on February 5th from 2-4 pm at the Welcome Center of Unity Park. We would love for all to come out and help us honor these public servants properly. \nCoffee\, tea and sweet treats will be served. The tickets are $50\, which will help us cover costs. Additional funds will be used to support expanding our message beyond our current audience.
