DESCRIPTION:The City of Greenville will host project preview meetings\, a chance for the public to view planned developments and provide feedback. The meetings will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of every month at the Prisma Health Welcome Center\, in Unity Park. Projects of major public interest may be scheduled separately\, from 6 to 7 p.m. A listing of the projects will be posted on the city website calendar a week in advance. \nThe open-house style of meeting will allow residents to stop by anytime to view projects before planning applications are submitted. There are no formal presentations\, however city staff will be on hand to listen and respond to any procedural questions. \nThe meetings will meet the requirement for public communication outlined in the new Development Code. The code specifically requires public meetings for any of the following applications: \n\nZoning map amendment (rezoning)\, except those associated with an annexation application;\nPreliminary plat for a major subdivision;\nStreet naming or re-naming;\nMajor Urban Design Certificate of Appropriateness for a multi-unit residential project\ncontaining 12 or more units;\nSite Plan application for a multi-unit residential project containing 12 or more units; and\nSpecial exception permit (such as certain types of signs or a business with operation hours between midnight and 5 a.m.)\n\nFor residents who are unable to attend a meeting\, comments or concerns about projects may be directed to the developer or emailed to planning@greenvillesc.gov. Messages will be routed to appropriate staff. All emails will receive a response.

DESCRIPTION:The FREE 2023 Greenville Jazz Fest will feature The Grammy Award-Winning Rebirth Brass Band and Jonathan Scales Fourchestra. Additional performances from The Tish Oney Jazz Orchestra featuring Greenville Jazz Collective Big Band\, Iliana Rose Cuban Jazz Band and The Wheel All Stars. \nThe 2023 Greenville Jazz Fest will bring jazz to Main Street and into local schools. The event is excited to partner with Greenville County Schools (GCS) to bring jazz education from the schools to the 2023 festival with a special performance from the All County Jazz Ensemble. Comprised of 20 students from 5 different GCS High Schools and the Fine Arts Center\, the ensemble will perform a variety of styles in the big band genre\, including swing\, funk\, samba\, bossa-nova\, and vocal jazz. The festival will also feature local crowd favorite Fine Arts Center Jazz All Stars. \nInformation and schedule of events is available online.

DESCRIPTION:The City of Greenville and Urban Design Associates (UDA) will hold an in-person\, drop-in style public meeting for the West End Small Area Plan on Tuesday\, June 22 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Fluor Field (please use the entrance at 945 S. Main Street). \nThe purpose of the meeting is to give West End residents and stakeholders and the general public an opportunity to discuss the project with City and UDA staff. There will not be a formal presentation. Instead\, information stations will be set up for different components of the plan\, allowing attendees to stop by any time between 5 and 6:30. \nPer CDC recommendations\, the City encourages those who have not received the COVID-19 vaccine to wear a mask.
