SUMMARY:The ERA: So Close After Coming So Far
DESCRIPTION:The Equal Rights Amendment has been around for longer than most of us think\, and is closer to being enshrined in the Constitution than most of us know. We are currently just four congressional signatures away from a vote that many advocates believe would end with the amendment’s approval this year. \nIn a year when you and I are working for the election of Kamala Harris as this country’s first female President\, it is incongruous that the United States has yet to ratify Equal Rights Amendment. It’s more than a badge. Especially when we consider some of the legislative action on reproductive rights\, health care\, and more that’s occurred in the past few years.
