I struggle to find the words to motivate and inspire this month, with our world on lockdown and the future uncertain. That said, I must reiterate that of which I am certain. The silver lining is always there. Always.

OK. Just what are these silver linings in a world gripped by COVID-19?

Greenville has joined hands to help those in need! Social media has blossomed with community groups, reaching out to one another, offering help and donations. Folks making grocery runs for the elderly. Others organizing to feed school children accustomed to two meals a day at school. Local restaurants being supported by many ordering takeout. Friends reaching out to friends.

I don’t speak for everyone here, but personally, I was worn out by presidential politics and needed to take a breath. It was exciting here in SC, but frankly I wasn’t looking forward to the final months leading up to the convention. Just more time for division, missteps and gaffs. Some might lament that no one is paying attention to presidential politics right now, but I welcome the respite. I’m waiting on a fabulous VP pick! SHE will give us the much-needed juice to power us through November!

Crises not only show the best in people, they expose the ‘Bad Actors’. The COVID crisis has given us the opportunity to see who’s who. The Oval occupant, both of our senators, many of our congressman, our governor and our attorney general (both federal and state) have all shown their true colors. They are not fit to govern. They do not have our best interests at heart. These men are concerned with pleasing corporate America, which lines their pockets. They have become day traders, just like Donald. The economy they need to get re-elected is more important to them than the lives of their constituents. Let that sink in. Their re-election is more important to them than your life.

The silver lining here? Outrage is my fuel.

And I thank the COVID crisis for refilling my tank.
