Huddle helps aspiring workers dress for success

Employment readiness. It’s a big bucket from education or skill development to building confidence to putting your best foot forward. And part of that is dressing the part.

In June, the GCDP Huddle has selected Foothills Family Resources and the Center for Working Families’ Dress for Independence Program as its local organizations to support. The nonprofit helps families in need to move from crisis to stability through a number of service that “support, educate and empower” them.

The goal is to transition families to a “fulfilling life of financial security.” The GCDP Huddle will be help in this effort by collecting business clothing and accessories like briefcases, purses, belts, and shoes, for both men and women.

For men:

  • Khaki slacks (tan, blue or black)
  • Knit shirts with collars in solid colors
  • Dress shirts
  • White undershirts
  • Dress socks

For women:

  • Dress slacks
  • Tops (business casual)
  • Cardigans
  • Camisoles

From June 19 through July 3, we’re collecting clothes in all sizes, so long as they are clean and in good condition at two upstate locations.

Carolina Moon Realty, 204 C North Poinsett Highway, Travelers Rest, SC; and the Wyche law firm, 200 East Camperdown Way, Greenville, SC. For additional information, contact the GCDP Huddle coordinator, Whitney Wright.
