More than 250 Greenville Democrats participated in our 2nd Annual BBQ and Candidate Fixins Competition on July 4. In addition to great eats, we had good old fashioned stump speeches from our Democratic primary candidates.
In addition to the candidates, South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Trav Robertson joined us and addressed the group. As did Carol Fowler, South Carolina representative to the Democratic National Committee.
The BBQ was a competition after all and the big winner was Evelyn Nocella with Adrienne Atkinson, candidate for State House from District 25, winning the Fixin’s competition.
The event is a big fundraiser for the GCDP and this year outpaced last year significantly, netting more than $10,000 to help us fulfill our mission of getting more Democrats elected in Greenville County.
