The Climate Reality Project’s Upstate SC Chapter has been working actively over the past two years with City Council and the Green Ribbon Advisory Committee to advocate for a climate action plan.  The city is now partnering with the Shi Institute for Sustainable Communities at Furman University to develop “SustainableGVL“: a plan to protect our natural resources, improve the health of the region’s watersheds and reduce the City’s carbon footprint.

Public involvement will be a critical piece of the project. The City will use surveys and public meetings to offer opportunities for participation.  The project kickoff on July 29th at 4PM, is our first opportunity for input and we want to make the most of it – please join us there if you can.
