The Upstate Chautauqua Festival kicks off Friday June 9th with a presentation by Mary Shelley, author of Frankenstein, at the Simpsonville Arts Center. Robert Ripley, will perform at Greenville Tech.

Other historical figures featured in this year’s festival include; Steve Jobs, Nellie Bly and James Armistead Lafayette.
