2nd Thursday Conversations: Being a Black Man Today

September 10, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

As America moves forward towards becoming a more perfect union, the plight of a specific group of its citizens is pivotal to that achievement: Black Men. The story of the black man in this country has been a complex one. Depending on the day of week and where you look to get your news, you will see a continuum of much success and alternatively much struggle within the community. We want to hear directly from those that can speak to this conglomeration of tragedies and triumphs: Black Men in Greenville. Please join us as we discuss the struggles of being a black man today, and how black men are stepping up as advocates in our local community.

Our panel of legislators and community leaders includes: Jonathon Sweeney, Kwadjo Campbell, Derrick Quarles, Ennis Fant, Jevarus HOward, Ty Washington and Brandon Upson. GCDP chair Elias “Eli” Valentin will moderate.

This is the second in a series of panel discussions exploring important issues of racial and gender equality.
