DWGC 2024 Financial Report

By Teri Morton,
DWGC Treasurer

At the beginning of 2023, Dem Women had almost $13,000 ($12,988) in the bank.  At the end of the year, we had over $21,000 ($21,546).

Revenues totaled over $43,000 ($43,552) and expenses totaled around $34,000 ($34,994).  The $8,000 ($8,557) plus added to our bank account equates to 20% of our total 2024 revenue.  The bulk of our revenues came from membership dues.  Membership increased substantially this year.  Additionally, in the first year of our tiered dues structure, many members generously joined and renewed at the higher $50 and $100 levels.  Membership dues collected totaled almost $18,000 ($17,977).

The second biggest revenue source was lunch meetings – just over $15,000 ($15,079).  This was offset by the cost for the meetings, which for the year in total broke close to even. (Expenses $474 over revenue.)

We also received donations totaling around $2,200 ($2,251) and netted around $3,800 ($3,822) in fund raising.  (revenue $5,622, expense $1,800)

Our biggest expense outside of monthly meetings was just over $10,000 ($10,297) in funds that went directly to candidates and the Democratic Party.  We also spent around $2,400 ($2,424) for the Holiday party, which is our annual gift to the membership.

Smaller expenses were incurred for office operations, such as software subscriptions, printing and postage, and events like a candidate development workshop and the Banned Together documentary screening at Camelot Theaters.

We do want to be transparent in our finances.  If there are any specific questions about how membership dues and other funds are being spent, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me for additional information.
